Christmas is coming
This was bare MDF. From Fernli designs. They do oodles of lovely things. I gesso-ed it then painted it and there spray glittered it, then added fine glitter to the snowflakes. I did the same with the top star.Plus added gems And the snowman is coloured and painted and glittered and glued on. The glitter doesn't show so good in the picture nor the gems on the start. I so enjoyed making this.

Leo and stash busting
This is a page showing Leo my dog. I went through my stash today and I found things I have had for years and I mean years. So, I have set myself a challenge , that is to use up the old stash by the end of 2016! Now there's a huge tub so I need to get going and scrapping and making cards with this stuff. Wish me luck this page made a start on using ribbons but I only made a slight tiny dent. But at least its a start!

altered box
This is a box I have had in the cupboard since I did a swap on UKS at Christmas 2014! You had to send a bare box and some things that could be used for altering. Old newspapers maps. photos, magazines, stamped images Etc. I thought it was time I got this box done. Not using the mixed media pieces I was sent but using my stash. Never altered a box before so I am pleased the way it came out. I used stencils and modelling paste, spray inks and mdf pieces from Fernli. I can recommend them for great products and prices and service. I also used gems and flowers and a butterfly. and gliding waxes. A owl had to be included has Kevin loved owls and I want to use this box to store the personal stuff I have of Kevin's. His wallet, a belt, fave tie etc.

These are photos of the afternoon tea.. keep visiting my blog has a picture of the tattoo will follow soon, My birthday isn't until Sept but my daughters took and chance to surpirise me with a early slice of birthday cake just has they did three yeas before at the same hotel.

drawing practice
Nothing on telly so picked up a pencil and thought I would try to draw . I hope I am getting better at drawing faces. Still having trouble getting the nose right and I would like to get more "Life" into the eyes still, they say practice makes perfect, so best keep practicing then!
mixed media
I am so enjoying getting messy with mixed media and art journaling. And I am so excited that I have booked to go on a retreat next March . We go to Hothrope Hall in the woodlands. I say we has this is a group of lovely ladies I have met via Facebook
. None of us have ever met and the common factor is we all have a scrap-booking kit from Like For Ever. Which is amazing, if you scrapbook and are looking for a kit each month you can't do better then check them out!

the last Edwardian girl and mixed media
This is the last Edwardian girl pattern from the set. I am well started on Christmas cards now.
The next is mixed media. I am really getting into the flow of this now. It's a feeling like being back at school has a little kid, you know, Put on Dads old shirt and those non spill paint pots thick brushes and go for your life! It is like letting go to my own restrictions. I can be messy, things don't have to be placed here and there just so I can add and add till I'm happy. I can do so much, can't think what else I want to add so walk away and come back add later. My hands are full of paint and glue and other lovely mucky stuff but it washes off. Ok some easier then others but it will wash so I don't care! If my fingers look like a rainbow well, rainbows are pretty! I can feel the joy in creating that's the whole point! and if people don't see the good in it well, art is a matter of opinion. isn't it? I used modelling paste, paint. Deep impression embossing and beads and correction fluid on the mixed media. I love both crafts! I love all crafts!. so I am off to scrapbook..Enjoy your day.

Edwardian girls
Two Christmas cards! yes I know its only June but parchment cards take time to make. There is another in the set which I am in the process of making. Judith Maslen is the designer of these and I love her patterns. They are delightful to work. These are coloured with Prismacolour pencils not my fave has they are lovely and creamy but to sharpen they can be a pain! has the leads are so soft.

misleading sorry
I am so sorry that the title of this blog is a bit misleading. I started out just blogging parchment stuff and now I am brave enough to show other crafty-ness too. So, I hope you will enjoy the blog and even if you don't do all or any of the crafts listed I hope you enjoy looking at what I created!I will be blogging more parchment as well has other things! Cheers
RAIN!Again!
I am getting very fed with the weather. More liquid sunshine today in my part of Cumbria! It is getting beyond a joke now. Walking the dog this morning I came home and got changed out of dripping clothes has I was soaked to the skin, even if I was wearing a parka! So, getting into mixed media and the like as I seem to be doing, I came up with this page. June is almost over and we are past the longest day so hopefully at some stage in July we will get some sort of summer. Says she who is looking up to the sky thinking "someone please turn off the tap and turn the heat lamp on!"

art journalling and mixed media
For a while I have had the odd dabble into the world of art journals. I thought it was time I stopped dabbling and really dipped my toe in a bit deeper. Showing you these really is getting in deeper! But has a friend told me the other day "we all have to start somewhere!" I brought a book by Janet davenport that hopes to teach me how to draw faces. These are my first two efforts. The third picture is my very first dabble into mixed media. So it seems I am spreading my crafty wings!
